Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) is a political foundation of the Federal Republic of Germany with over 100 country offices worldwide. KAS contributes actively and effectively to international cooperation and understanding through its programmes and projects. Our Multinational Development Policy Programme (MDPD) based in Brussels serves as a bridge builder between the EU Institutions and the foundation’s partners in the global south. The team in Brussels works closely with the EU Projects Team in Berlin on the acquisition and implementation of EU funded projects. The MDPD Programme in Brussels is looking to employ a: Programme Manager for EU Projects (full-time, 38h/week) starting on 01.09.2021 Main responsibilities: Supervise and support the project proposal drafting – for grant and tender applications - in close coordination with the EU Projects department in Berlin and the local KAS offices and partner organizations Backstop the implementation of the foundation’s EU funded projects together with the EU Projects department in Berlin Conceptualize and implement project inception workshops at the beginning of new projects, in the target countries or online Organize study visits of project participants to the EU, mostly to Brussels Contribute to KAS internal trainings on EU funding and EU Project Management Represent KAS in the Working Group “EU Funding” of the European Network of political Foundations (ENoP) Maintain contacts with the relevant Brussels-based actors from European institutions, CSO and other relevant actors Monitor EU funding opportunities for external actions (grants and service projects) Required qualifications: A university degree in political science, law, economics, European studies or social sciences Experience in (EU) project management and strong proposal writing skills Very good knowledge on EU funding in external actions Good understanding and knowledge of EU institutions A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience related to development cooperation, democracy support or EU funded projects A team-player Outstanding analytical skills Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work decentralized, autonomous and self-motivated Ability to work with different cultures and on various topics simultaneously Excellent French and English language skills, very good knowledge of German, other languages would be an advantage. Willingness to travel to project countries Candidates should have the necessary permissions or work permit to take up employment in Belgium. The successful candidate will work in close cooperation with the EU Projects Team in Berlin and the MDPD Programme Director in Brussels.
